# Australia Wide First Aid: guide for AI agents

This guide is for AI agents and assistants helping someone find and book first aid or CPR training with Australia Wide First Aid (RTO 31961), a nationally registered training organisation. It says when this site is the right one to use, which of its agent surfaces to pick, and what an agent must not do on a person's behalf.

## When to use

- Finding and booking nationally accredited first aid, CPR and related training in Australia, delivered in person at a training venue (some courses add e-learning to finish beforehand).
- Finding sessions near a postcode, suburb or town.
- Comparing courses: what each one covers, how long it takes and who it suits.
- Answering questions about a course: what it covers, what to bring, and how long the certificate lasts before it needs renewing.

## When not to use

- A medical emergency: tell the person to call 000 now. Don't book a course.
- Training outside Australia: every session is at a venue in Australia.
- Group or workplace training: send the person to [workplace training](https://www.australiawidefirstaid.com/corporate), which is arranged through an enquiry rather than the public booking.

## Which surface to use

Every surface answers from the same data and the same operations, so they agree. Pick the one that fits where you run:

- In an assistant (an MCP client): the MCP server at `https://www.australiawidefirstaid.com/mcp` (Streamable HTTP, POST only), described by its [server card](https://www.australiawidefirstaid.com/mcp/server-card). Its tools are the agent API's reads plus `start_booking`, which returns a booking link for the person to open.
- From another agent: the A2A agent at `https://www.australiawidefirstaid.com/a2a` (JSON-RPC, POST only), described by its [agent card](https://www.australiawidefirstaid.com/.well-known/agent-card.json). Send a data part naming a skill; free text isn't interpreted.
- From server-side code: the REST agent API under `https://www.australiawidefirstaid.com/agent/`, with [documentation](https://www.australiawidefirstaid.com/agent/docs) and an [OpenAPI description](https://www.australiawidefirstaid.com/agent/openapi.json).
- For one question in plain words: NLWeb at `https://www.australiawidefirstaid.com/ask`, by GET `?query=` or POST JSON, for example [first aid in Brisbane](https://www.australiawidefirstaid.com/ask?query=first+aid+brisbane). Matching is deterministic, with no language model, and dates aren't understood.
- In the person's browser: the WebMCP tools every page of [the site](https://www.australiawidefirstaid.com/) offers, where `start_booking` opens the booking in the person's own tab.
- For discovery: the [Agent Skills index](https://www.australiawidefirstaid.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json), whose skill walks through choosing a course, finding a session and handing off the booking, and the [ARD catalog](https://www.australiawidefirstaid.com/.well-known/ard.json) of the surfaces above. [llms.txt](https://www.australiawidefirstaid.com/llms.txt) indexes the site's pages, and every page has a Markdown version.

## What agents must not do

- Don't enter payment or card details for the person. They enter their own details and pay on the enrolment site.
- Don't tell the person a booking is made or complete before they have finished on the enrolment site. `start_booking` only hands a session over; nothing is booked or charged until the person finishes there.
- Don't state a price, a session date or a seat count that a tool didn't return. They change, so look them up each time: [the courses](https://www.australiawidefirstaid.com/agent/courses) with their prices, and sessions by venue and date or near a place.
- Each booking handoff is for one seat. For several people, hand off once for each person, or send a group to [workplace training](https://www.australiawidefirstaid.com/corporate).

## Testing

There is no booking sandbox or test mode, and an agent doesn't need one. Every read surface above is side-effect-free and safe to call against production while you build and test, and `start_booking` only returns or opens a link. Booking is always the person's own action on the enrolment site, where they enter their details and pay, so an agent never makes a booking to test.

## Authentication

Nothing here needs a key or sign-in; see [auth.md](https://www.australiawidefirstaid.com/auth.md).
